Horde King: rules, rewards and timing

Short answer

When the blood moon rises, the Horde King takes the centre of the map for 48 hours. The whole realm marches on him and splits his hoard by damage.

What it does

The Horde King appears at the middle of the realm map every time the blood moon rises and stays for 48 hours. His health is sized to the realm: it takes roughly 40 to 60 ordinary attacks from everyone together to bring him down.

An attack is a normal march: pick your zombies or squads like a raid, walk to the centre, fight his honour guard of veteran Brutes, and walk home. You can attack again once your horde is home and rested, so dedicated players climb the damage board.

If he falls, his hoard is split by each attacker's share of the damage. You need at least 1% of all damage for a cut, and the top three wear his crown on the leaderboards for a week. If nobody brings him down in time, his horde spills out and marches on the villages nearest the centre.

Tips

  • Send your biggest, most veteran squads: damage comes from the guards you kill and the zombies still standing.
  • Attack early and often. Every landed attack adds to your share, and the raid cooldown is the only limit.
  • Villages near the centre should post guards before his time runs out, in case he escapes.
  • Attacking him never drops your peace shield.

Questions

How do you beat the Horde King in Voxhorde?

March squads at him while he holds the centre of the map for 48 hours. Every attack chips at his health; the realm needs roughly 40 to 60 attacks. Deal at least 1% of the damage for a share of the hoard, and finish in the top three to wear his crown.
