10 mistakes new Voxhorde players make
Updated September 25, 2026. Figures come from the live game.
The short answer
Don't leave gates empty, don't let stores sit at the cap, don't raid villages under half your strength, and don't run loud with thin defenses. Build a Warehouse before expanding and put your early serum into binding.
The ten
- Leaving gates unguarded. Attackers pick the empty side. Post guards on all four.
- Letting stores sit full. Production past the cap is lost. A Full coin over a producer means spend now.
- Skipping the Warehouse. Producers can't go more than one level above it, and the third expansion costs 1,400 scrap while base storage holds 960.
- Raiding tiny villages. Under half your strength pays half loot and no trophies.
- Running loud with thin gates. Hordes walk to the loudest village within 12 cells.
- Skipping the mini-game grade. An S halves the timer and makes the building a Masterwork for good.
- Emptying your reserve for a raid. Raids take from the reserve, then thin your posts.
- Ignoring revenge. A lost defense gives you a 24-hour raid with 1.5× loot that keeps your shield up.
- Forgetting the daily claim. Miss 48 hours and the calendar drops back to day 1, far from the day 7 Blood Crate.
- Spending gold on short rushes. Second Crew or Overdrive buys far more time.
Questions players ask
What's the most common Voxhorde mistake?
Leaving a gate side empty. Attackers only fight the side they enter from, and they choose it.
