How raids work in Voxhorde: routes, approach sides and the fence

Updated September 25, 2026. Figures come from the live game.

The short answer

Tap a village on the Map and plan a route; each step takes 5 minutes and the last step decides which side you attack. You fight that side's guards, barricade and road gate, then the reserve and the keep gate. Win and you carry home 30 % of their unprotected stock.

Planning the route

  1. Open the Map and tap a village inside your scouting range (8 cells at first).
  2. The shortest grid path is drawn. Tap cells to add waypoints and bend it.
  3. Routes can't pass through another village; to hit the far side, walk around it.
  4. Check the side you enter from: it's shown on the route bar, and it's the only side you'll fight.
  5. Confirm. Up to 18 zombies march from your reserve, 5 minutes per step, 48 steps at most.
The map with a target selected and its raid sheet open

Tapping a village opens its target sheet: league, trophies at stake, any bounty, and a warning if it's too weak to be worth it.

What you fight, in order

  1. The guards posted on the side you enter.
  2. That side's barricade, if it has one (90 hp a level).
  3. That side's road gate (120 hp, +60 a level).
  4. Up to 12 reserve zombies at the keep, under tower fire.
  5. The keep gate (240 hp, +120 if fortified).

Guards on the other three sides stay put. That's why the approach side is the most important choice in a raid: find the side with the fewest guards and no barricade.

What you win

  • 30 % of their scrap, timber and biomass above their protected stock. Serum is never looted.
  • 30 trophies, plus 10 if they were at least as strong as you.
  • A 3-hour scavenge route worth 6 scrap an hour.
  • Their side's barricade and road gate wrecked for 30 minutes.

Raiding a village under half your strength pays half loot, no trophies, and wrecks nothing. After a raid your horde needs 10 minutes to recover once it's home.

Why you can't raid

The raid target sheet with trophies at stake, the entry side, the Spore cloud switch and the squad picker

The target sheet before you march. If anything blocks the raid, a Can't raid yet card appears above the Raid button with each reason and its fix.

  1. Trophies at stake: win and lose
  2. The side your route enters by
  3. Spore cloud: bursts 12 seconds into the fight
  4. The squads that march

Questions players ask

How long does a raid take in Voxhorde?

Five minutes per step on the grid each way, plus the fight. A target 4 steps away arrives in 20 minutes.

Does raiding drop my shield?

Yes, any raid drops your own shield, except a revenge raid.

Can I cancel a raid?

Yes, before it arrives. The horde turns around where it stands and walks home the same way. No fight happens and no trophies change.

How much loot do I get from a raid?

30 % of the defender's scrap, timber and biomass above their protected stock, capped by what you can store. Serum is never taken.
